Fellow of the Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA), Member member of the AMA and ASA.

  • Dr Eggleton is a Specialist Anaesthetist and has been based in the Lower Hunter region since 2001.

    He commenced his anaesthesia training in Darwin and Adelaide before completing his Fellowship of ANZCA in Newcastle and Maitland in 2005.

    The patients Dr Eggleton looks after range in age from 1 to 100 across a variety of surgical specialities.

    He regularly provides anaesthesia for Upper and Lower Gastrointestinal Surgery, Bariatric Surgery, Orthopaedics, Spinal, Trauma, Head and Neck, ENT, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Skin Cancer.

    He is a VMO in the public system at John Hunter Hospital and the Royal Newcastle Centre and has accreditation for all Private Hospitals and Day Surgeries in Newcastle and Maitland.

  • Dr Eggleton has a special interest in Regional Anaesthesia and Analgesia and uses Ultrasound extensively in his practice, for safe and effective nerve blocks and vascular access procedures (getting the drip in!).

    He is a member of the AMA and ASA and uses the ANZCA Continuing Professional Development program to maintain ongoing education.
