Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA).

  • Bachelor of Medicine, University of Newcastle 1990. Internship and resident year training at Royal North Shore hospital with a further year in Emergency medicine at John Hunter Hospital.

    During this time Dr Browne developed an interest in Anaesthesia and completed her anaesthetic training at John Hunter Hospital between 1994-2000.

    In 2000, Dr Browne completed her fellow year at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Scotland, gaining valuable experience in general surgery, burns, cardiothoracic, major plastic and reconstructive surgery.

    Upon return to Newcastle, Dr Browne worked as a staff specialist at John Hunter Hospital, before expanding into busy private practice at all major private hospitals.

    Dr Browne’s work has encompassed:

    • General surgery

    • Obstetrics

    • Gynaecology

    • Endoscopy

    • Spinal surgery and

    • Orthopaedics

    In more recent years, Dr Browne completed a Diploma of Perioperative Medicine, University College London, having a strong interest in perioperative medicine and regional Anaesthesia. 

  • Outside of work Dr Browne is happiest spending time with her family – two daughters, husband and a dog. They love to travel, hike and enjoys the outdoors.

    Dr Browne’s daily morning trip to the beach, hopefully for a swim, is a routine that has persisted since her University days.

    Other interests include regular attendance at that other type of theatre, with a longstanding subscription with Sydney Theatre Company.

    She also enjoy learning languages and has been studying French for many years.
