Dr Harrigan qualified as a Specialist in Anaesthesia in 1999 and as a Specialist in Intensive Care in 2000. He has pursued a career with a special interest in clinical research and perioperative medicine.
He is presently enjoying full time Anaesthetic practice and continues his interest in Perioperative Medicine, Critical Care and Regional Anaesthesia.

Bedside teaching of medical students, JMOs and Registrars.
Teaching of Part 1 and Part 2 tutorials for anaesthesia and intensive care trainees with a particular interest in airway management.
Teaching at NSW Rural Doctors Network anaesthesia refresher courses on Airway Management.
Development and dissemination of intravenous access guidelines for the HNE Area Health Service.

Outside the operating theatre, Dr Harrigan enjoys photography, snow skiing and philosophy.
