Dr Orr graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2004.
Whilst in Tasmania, he completed five years of postgraduate medical training in areas of emergency medicine & intensive care, along with concluding his basic anaesthetic training.
In 2010, he moved to Newcastle, where he completed his advanced anaesthetic training & also gained further experience working in areas of intensive care & retrieval medicine.
He obtained his anaesthetic fellowship in 2013, & has been working as a consultant anaesthetist in the Hunter region since that time.
Currently Dr Orr has appointments at all public & private hospitals in the Hunter. He has a broad range of anaesthetic practice, with much of his public work comprising of emergency, trauma orthopaedics & neuroradiology. His private practice further encompasses areas such as obstetrics & gynaecology, urology, ear nose & throat, dental, cosmetic & general surgery.
Dr Orr’s continued involvement in tertiary public & private practice, maintains his competence to deliver safe anaesthetic care for your surgery, along with tailoring your anaesthetic for any health concerns you may have.
To further deliver a high standard of contemporary practice, Dr Orr regularly attends national anaesthetic scientific meetings & participates in workshops, such emergency scenarios & regional anaesthesia for example. He is a member of the Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists, Australian Society of Anaesthetist & the AMA, having ongoing access to their educational & professional support.
